Following a previous notice regarding a minor administrative compliance issue identified during a Texas Commission on Jail Standards inspection in November, the Panola County Sheriff’s Office has provided an update. Sheriff Cutter Clinton reports that all required paperwork has now been received by the state, and the Panola County Detention Center is officially in compliance with Texas jail standards.

Panola County Jail found non-compliant with state standards
CARTHAGE, Texas (KLTV) - During a inspection on Tuesday at the Panola County Jail, the Texas Commission on Jail Standards found a compliance issue. According to the Panola County Sheriff Cutter Clinton, the inspector found that occasionally, when inmates committed disciplinary infractions, jail staff did not wait until after a mandatory 24-hour “cooling-off” period before issuing paperwork.
